So I was browsing around Specktra.net, and one of the members posted the promo pics of this collection from Allura Beauty. I am impressed, and this is coming from someone who previously ran from bronzer. I always thought they made my face look muddy. But I am definitely interested in the type of glow I could get from the Mineralize Skin Finishes and learning what to do with the Lustre Drops. I wonder how they would compare to NARS Illuminating Highlighter?   I can’t wait to try is the Skin Sheen Leg Spray; I imagine they will impart a sexy bronze, sheen to the legs. Hopefully this collection will live up to expectations and we won’t look as orange as an Oompa Loompa.

Sephora by OPI Glee Collection

Sephora announced that they would be producing a limited edition nail polish collection inspired by the TV show Glee.

According to WWD, the Sephora by OPI Glee collection will include seven shades available for individual sale: Slushied, an opaque blue; Hell to the No, a bold purple; Gleek Out, a glittery lime green; Diva-in-Training, a poppy pink; Who Let the Dorks Out, a peacock green; Miss Bossy Pants, a rich raspberry, and Mash-Up, a pearlescent green gray. Each polish will cost $9.50.

A mini set of six polishes (pictured above) will sell for $22 and include Miss Bossy Pants, Gleek Out and Slushied, along with three additional exclusive colors: Celibacy Club, a glimmering, diamond top coat; Express Yourself to Yourself, a shimmery coral shade, and Sue Vs Shue, a navy blue.

In addition to nail polish, Chic Prints for Nails Design Appliqués — precut strips of dry nail polish — will be available in three different “Glee”-inspired designs: Showstopper, gold stars; Berry Special, polka dots; and One Hit Wonder, music notes. Appliqués last two days on nails and retail for $15.
The collection will be available in stores and online in February and will even be featured on the Feb. 8 episode of Glee.

I’m not that much of a nail polish fan, or a gleek, but I think this is a fun collection for those who are.  ENJOY!

Mineralize Foundation SPF 15 has the exclusive formula – micronized and coated pigments improve blendability, maintain colour purity with SPF 15, and our liquid mineral ferment complex adds nutrients. Light diffusing optics minimize the visibility of imperfections – FINALLY Flawless!

U.S. Launch Date: January 13th, 2011 | International Launch Date: January 2011
Mineralize Foundation SPF 15 ($32.00 US)
Minerals are the foundation for all living things. The human body is made of approximately 60% water and skin is approximately 70% water. By fusing minerals and water, Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation is the synthesis of earthly essential elements in the form of a rich, luxurious solid cream compact with a liquid mineral infusion. This uniquely textured, medium buildable, foundation delivers immediate hydration while revitalizing the look of dull and dry skin. Used backstage during the Spring/Summer 2010 fashion shows of; BCBG, Carolina Herrera and Baby Phat, it is both a makeup artists dream and a real woman’s skin saving grace.
Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation features an innovative gel based system that provides extreme comfort and creaminess in application, making this formula appealing to all skins but especially normal to dry. The gel fuses the formula’s high water content (30.5%) with the polymers and coated pigments for the ultimate in silky smooth, yet long wearing (up to 8 hours), colour payoff. Because of the immediate moisturization benefits, Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation also helps to immediately reduce the appearance of pores and provides skin with a non-sticky, cooling break.
Additionally, a blend of lightweight oils creates a creamy, comfortable feeling on the skin. The innovative wax-free structure helps moisturize skin, while light diffusing optics help minimize the visibility of pores and imperfections for a flawless looking complexion
Available in: NC15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 37, 40, 42, 44, 45, 50, 55; NW15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 43, 45, 47, 50, 55.

130 Short Duo Fibre Brush ($40.00 US)

A short, round, flat-topped brush ideal for the smooth, easy application of foundations, creams, emulsions, and select powder products. Features a blend of natural bristles and synthetic fibres.

This foundation launched in February of 2010, and has been permanently out of stock since the fall. I got a chance to use the foundation then, and really liked it. It looks like Studio Tech in the pan, but it is nothing like it. It has a creamy consistency but doesn’t look or feel heavy on. The finish is dewy and not as matte as the Studio Tech. I found the coverage to be light, and easily buildable to a heavier coverage. I wore this with MSF deep over it and the finish was nice and smooth, and it lasted all night. My pictures of my skin that night looked just as smooth as the promo pic. (Ok maybe not a smooth b/c of photoshop, but you get the idea :-)) I also didn’t have any adverse reactions to it. That’s a huge thumbs up for me and my acne prone skin. I would definitely recommend you try this one out in the store, the color can be hard to match. I even tried the Mineralize liquid, which looked heavy on, and this is nothing like it. Also, don’t let the oils in it scare you away, I have oily skin and I did not turn into an oil slick at the end of the night. I can’t give this a rating because it has been over a year since I used this, but definitely give this one a test drive in the store. I’ll update my review once I try this again.

Here is an upcoming collection for spring that features vibrant, and rich colors.

It features 12, kissable lipcolors and 15 mega metal eyeshadows.

“Arrogance or elegance? The showy display, the undeniably sexual spectacle, the iridescent irreverence…it’s awe-inspiring. We fetishize the exotic peacock as a symbol of extreme beauty, an act of elaborate nature, raging against everything simplistic. Peacocky fans out in a foray of intense colour for Lips and Eyes, exotic and sophisticated with a touch of ’30s F. Scott Fitzgerald glamour and mesmerizing metallic sheen. New Kissable Lipcolour combines full flash with creamy comfort. It’s molten, with elastomer technology that imparts a velvety, aerated feel without sacrificing shine. Light as a feather. Mega Metal Shadow gleams like chrome, with light-reflecting properties – yet creamy, crease-resistant, vitamin-fortified flexibility. Dramatic doesn’t even begin to describe the girl who knows she’s Peacocky.

Today, fans swarmmed the Times Square MAC store to get a glimpse of Nicki Minaj, while she talked about and promoted her new lipstick, Pink Friday.

And we are lucky that Temptalia, has already posted the swatches here  here!

So what do you think? It is definitely a blue based pink. It looks pretty in the tube, and when you compare it to other pinks, it just doesn’t stand out. I think it will look a little too pale on me. I don’t like it as much as my favorite pink, Sweetie. So far, nothing compares to that one. 🙂 But I’m sure all the Barbie Fanz will snatch this one up. Nicki states, that this will replace her favorite MAC lipstick, Pink Nouveau. I wonder if it will be a favorite for all of us.

This will be available online only, and only on November 26, December 3, December 10, and December 17. Get it? The next 4 Fridays? LOL

Hi Everyone, this post is for my entry to Karen @ MBB ‘s contest.  I think this is a fantastic contest, not just because of the haul, but for the cause.

About six years ago my Mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  It came as a huge surprise because she was relatively healthy.  It was also very scary because had it not been detected early, we were not sure how well she would have done.  She had been getting her regular mammograms every year without any signs and the next year her mammogram showed a spot and that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes.  Shortly after it was detected she started an aggressive treatment plan which included surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and was enrolled in a clinical trial.  During this time two of my Aunts were also diagnosed.    As you can see this hit our family hard.   Through our research, we learned that Breast Cancer strikes African-American women more aggressively and at a younger age than women of other races.   Since then we have been involved with various charities, and my mother has done speaking engagements and helped other women through this process.  I’m very proud of her and what she has accomplished.
